Renting or buying

Finding a place, arranging to see it, and keeping track of the ones worth a second look.

Narrow a search to the places you would actually take

The filters do more than price and bedrooms, and they stay in the address bar.

1Open Properties and use the rail on the left - type, price, bedrooms, floor area and amenities all filter live, and each option shows how many listings it would leave.
2The filters live in the URL, so you can bookmark a search or send it to somebody and they see exactly what you saw.
3Save the search from the button above the results to get an email when something new matches.

Compare places side by side

Four at a time, with the rows they agree on hidden.

1Tick the scales icon on any card - it sits in the top corner of the photograph, on every grid on the site.
2A tray appears along the bottom holding your shortlist. Add up to four.
3Open Compare. Rows where every property says the same thing are hidden, so what is left is what actually separates them.

Book a viewing

Real slots from the agent's own calendar, not a request into the void.

1On a listing, scroll to Availability and pick a day, then a time. Times are shown in your own time zone, with the zone named beside them.
2Press Request. The agent is emailed and confirms or declines.
3Track it under My viewings, and cancel from there if your plans change - there is no penalty.

Ask an agent something

One thread per property, so nothing gets lost across three apps.

1Use the message box in the agent panel on any listing, or WhatsApp if you would rather - the tab is there when the agent has a number.
2Replies land in Messages, reachable from the chat icon in the header. The unread count there is the whole site's, so you never have to go looking.
3Photographs and 360 views can be sent both ways inside a thread.

Letting or selling your own place

Getting a property on the site, and what happens between listing it and handing over keys.

Add a property

Details and photographs together, saved as a draft until you are ready.

1Go to My listings and press New listing. Nothing is public until it is published, so you can leave and come back.
2Fill in the address and drag the pin - the map position is what puts you in the right search results.
3Add photographs. The first is the cover unless you choose another, and you can reorder them by dragging.
4Set the rental terms if you are letting: deposit, payment period, minimum term and what is included.

Get it live

A landlord writes the listing; an agent or an administrator publishes it.

1Finish the listing and add at least one photograph - a listing with no photograph will not publish.
2Press Publish. If you are a landlord rather than an agent, the button asks an agent to review it instead.
3Once live it appears in search, on the map and in alerts within a few minutes.

Handle the people who get in touch

Enquiries, viewing requests and messages all land in the dashboard.

1Viewing requests appear under My viewings with Confirm and Decline against each.
2Questions arrive in Messages, one thread per property, with the listing shown at the top of the thread so you know what is being asked about.
3Set your availability once and the calendar on your listings offers only slots you are genuinely free for.

Working as an agent

Everything above, plus the parts of the site only agents and administrators see.

Build a 360 virtual tour

Several panoramas joined by arrows on the doorways.

1Open a listing and choose Build the tour.
2Upload a 360 photograph of each room and name it. Every photograph has to be twice as wide as it is tall - that is what equirectangular means, and it is what a panoramic camera produces.
3Press Add an arrow, turn the room to face a doorway, click it, and say which room is through it.
4Turn each room to face the way somebody should walk in and press Start visitors facing this way.
5Publish. A tour will not publish if any room cannot be reached from the first one, because a visitor would get stranded there.

My listings

Add a walkthrough video or a single 360

Both are optional, and both sit in the gallery beside the photographs.

1On a listing, the media panel takes a YouTube link or a short uploaded clip.
2Any photograph taken on a panoramic camera can be marked as a 360 view from the same panel - it then opens in the viewer rather than the lightbox.
3Only what you add shows. A listing with no video simply has no video slot.

Answer a property brief

People describe what they want and it arrives as an enquiry.

1Briefs sent to you directly, and any the desk routes to you, appear under Property enquiries.
2Reply by email or start a conversation from the brief.
3Mark it handled so it leaves the queue.

1Billing shows your current plan and every other one, with the listing limits each allows.
2Changing plan takes effect immediately.
3Billing is currently a demonstration - nothing is charged and no card details are stored.
